On our way back to Florida, we stopped to see our sailing friends George and Helen Smith in Tampa, Harry and Tammy Yallelus in Lake Placid, and Tom and Carol Elliot in Fort Myers. These were all very pleasant stops with some of our best friends.

Tampa:  In Tampa, we stayed with George and Helen Smith, sailing buddies of ours for many years. They visited us while we lived in the Bay Area, and until recently owned a sistership to SIESTA. They showed us their pictures of a recent cruise from San Francisco to the Caribbean via the Panamá Canal.

Lake Placid:  Tammy and Harry Yallelus were neighbors of ours for quite a few years here in the Keys. However, those were the years that we were working hard to be able to retire. And recently they moved to Lake Placid and purchased a beautiful home, which they shared with us for an evening of great memories.

Fort Myers:  We met Tom and Carol Elliot in the early 80's here in Marathon. We were visiting on our boat (before we bought property here) and they had just retired, and were starting a new lifestyle on board their Morgan OI 41' MOONSHADOW. After many wonderful years of cruising the Caribbean, the Bahamas and the East Coast of the US, they are still going strong. However, they now have a lovely condo in Ft. Myers with a perfect dock for MOONSHADOW. They suffered no significant damage during CHARLEY, the hurricane that did so much damage to that area this year.
