Anchoring
Home Up Repowering SIESTA Repowering Siesta, Part 2 Autopilot New Rigging Anchoring

We now have a 66 lb Bruce anchor with 250 feet of 3/8" BBB chain. We also have a CQR copy, which we are replacing with a new 75 lb CQR or "plow" anchor.

Our bow pulpit can accommodate both anchors quite well. See picture below.

We have decided to upgrade to a more powerful windlass. Our current Lofrans Tigres has worked flawlessly since we purchased the boat, but we wanted additional hauling capacity when anchoring in deep water with these heavy anchors and lots of heavy chain.

So, we purchased a Lofrans Falkon, a larger capacity windlass of similar design.
