Mazatlán is a beautiful city, with a wide malecón bordering a large part of it, facing some colorful islands and beaches. The malecón is populated with commemorative statues that delight the eye.

While in Mazatlán, we stayed at Isla Marina. An impromptu band came together and we had a wonderful pot luck luncheon while we did our best to create danceable music.

There is a large fleet of shrimp boats in the harbor, more boats than I had ever seen stacked together like sardines for the fishing off-season.
