WELCOME TO THE "SIESTA" LOG!
THIS IS THE STARTING POINT OF THE LOG OF OUR TRIP ON OUR WEB SITE. THERE ARE A LOT OF PICTURES HERE, AND A LOT OF PASSAGEWAYS TO EXPLORE.
From this page, you can surf to any of the material in our log. In these web pages, you will find all the stories and pictures of our trip from San Francisco to the Florida Keys. You can look at the information in any order. Below is an explanation of the navigation possibilities, broken down by section, since there is a lot of information and pictures in the LOG. As of July 2003, we are still adding content to the Log. We have a lot of work to do to publish the material we gathered on our trip.
FAST TOUR contains an overview of our sailing trip, with minimum text, just some pictures and a brief explanation. We are starting our web update in this section, and once completed, we will move on to more detailed information in the sections below..
THE START is where we have our departure from San Francisco, and our trip to San Diego.
HOLA, MEXICO! includes our trip down the west coast of Baja California, as part of the BAJA HAHA cruising rally, and our initial exploration of the southern Baja, including our stay in La Paz.
CRUISING MEXICO II documents our trip from La Paz across to Puerto Vallarta, in the Mexican mainland, and our first cruise south along the Mexican Gold Coast, as far south as Manzanillo, and back north to Puerto Vallarta and Mazatlán..
CRUISING MEXICO III deals with the our adventures cruising the Sea of Cortez, prior to flying back to Marathon for the summer of 2002. We left the boat in San Carlos, Mexico, on the hard, for the hot summer season. Some of these sections are still under construction.
Additional sections will be added later to document, in detail, more segments of our trip, such as:
CRUISING PACIFIC CENTRAL AMERICA includes our visits to Guatemala, El Salvador, Nicaragua, Costa Rica and Pacific Panamá.
The PANAMÁ CANAL relates our experiences getting ready for, and transiting the Panamá Canal.
CARIBBEAN PANAMÁ includes our visits to Colón, Portobelo, Linton, Isla Grande and the awesome San Blás Islands.
The NORTHWEST CARIBBEAN section includes our trip to San Andrés Isla, Colombia, and on to the Bay Islands of Honduras, and Isla Mujeres, in the Yucatán region of Mexico.
LANDFALL IN THE KEYS relates our experience sailing SIESTA on its final leg home, and the re-entry process to a more conventional lifestyle ashore, for a while, anyway. :-)
We hope you will enjoy reading our stories and browsing the pictures as much as we have had living these wonderful adventures.
